Only “Kinda” Evil….Update #1

Okay guys, at first this started out kinda funny…and yes, a little evil….but….

I talked with twin “T’ today and he seems like a really nice guy….of course they are always on their best behavior for the first few weeks…lol. But, I enjoyed talking to him today for about 1/2 hour on the phone during a break at work. And, he doesn’t sound like his twin “M” (yayyy) who I dated a few times last year, and he doesnt sound like a player (yippeeee)…..okay (big thing here in South Florida). Whew! We discussed how it is a little akward with my having dated his brother last year….but his brother and I were never “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” in fact “M” had a different terminolgy for everything….I will have to remember the terms and his definitions….they were actually strange…but to each his own. But, we talked about how we would handle it if we hit it off…..and “M” is out of town until the end of October so there is no chance in running onto him by accident…did I mention that they live together? Ooops!

Okay, so “T” and I have a drink date tomorrow night….I will keep you posted!

Okay guys you will tell me if I am evil… and tell me if I went over the line with this one…but let me give you a little history first.

Last year I dated a man who we will call “M” who was fairly deceitfull about what he wanted from me, and I believed him when he said that he was looking for a relationship and that he liked me. At first he was attentive then he would only call every two or three weeks. He said he was looking for the same thing as I was, a relationship….then poof! I wouldn’t hear from him again for a 3 or 4 weeks. Yes, I know I was stupid and believed him each time he did it….it lasted about 7 or 8 months before the light bulb went on. Yes, I know….so it ended when he made plans with myself and my daughter for dinner and then he stood us up. (My daughter is 22 years old) He then proceeded to call me 6 weeks later to see me and was SHOCKED when I flatly told him “no” and that I didn’t wish for him to call me again. Okay….so here is the “evil” part…..

So…….kinda ashamed about this guys….but here goes…..I started a profile on Yahoo Personals the other day and was looking around and saw a man that looked familier….it was ”M’s” twin brother. So…..you know that devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other? Well the devil kicked the angels’ ass and she led me into sending a quick “hi” to “T”….”M’s” twin brother. I KNOW! QUIT SHOUTING!

So, (sorry can’t stop laughing while typing this) I had told him we had actually met already and he sent a reply asking when and if I was getting him confused with his brother. (sorry, still laughing)….I KNOW! EVIL! So, I told him that I HAD date his brother a few times….I am waiting to hear back….dying actually to see if he calls me on my evilness (which would be kinda cool, I love it when people call me on my shit) or just does the guy thing and flirts….I can’t wait to find out!

Evil, evil evil…..(smile)

My Strangest & Funniest Date Ever

About a year ago I was on Match.com and started emailing back and forth with a man who said he was an underwater filmaker/photographer. This sounded kinda cool. We had spoken on the phone a few times and he seemed like a nice guy. This was in the beginning of my real dating life so I hadn’t developed by “weird radar” yet. anyways, we planned on meeting at a local zoo. I thought it was a great idea for a first date. He seemed to really like animals like I did, so it sounded like things might go well since we would have that in common. Okay, but that is where it goes all awry!

We got to the zoo and as we made out way through past the different animals we came to the otter pen. This reminded him that he had recently spoken with his gypsy (yes, I said gypsy) and she had said that he had been an otter in a past life (yes, I said otter as in argh argh).

I proceeded to laugh a little thinking he was joking with me……he wasn’t! And, he was a little perterbed that I had started laughing. So, I proceeded to apologize, but now I had my guard up. Who the hell sees a gypsy? Sorry if I am affending any gypsys out there! Oh well! So, we proceeded through the zoo talking about the different animals. But, all I can hear in my head is “he thinks he was an otter…” and the smile just WILL NOT leave my face. I am sure he thought that he was so clever and that the reason why I was smiling was his wonderful verbal banter. It wasn’t.

So, as we near the end of the zoo, I am thinking that I have probably misjudged him and that maybe ONE LITTLE odd thing is not too bad…..but, he then proceeds to tell me that he thinks that we were “otter LOVERS in a past life”!

I ran screaming down the street as fast as I could! Guys, a word to the wise….do NOT bring the word otter and sex into the same sentence on the first date! (Actually, I suggest not to ever use that combination of words at any point to the woman in your life).

The Feminine Wiles Game

Having grown up in rural Vermont I have heard of “feminine wiles” from the romance books that almost every young girl reads….but, come on. Does a woman have to do that in real life? I never had to before….there was always a guy in my life and I don’t remember having to do anything that sounded like this “game” that I hear from all the professionals. Like, don’t tell too much about yourself on the first date. Make the date a short date so he is left wanting more. Seem mysterious, come on girls this is kinda funny!

Okay, so I have been dating for the last two years and not really finding anyone that I wanted to keep around for more than a few weeks, and the other way around (frown). So I asked a male friend jokingly what the heck I was doing wrong! And he told me first that what he was about to reveal could possibly lose him his “male” card. They are not allowed to share secrets with the enemy. LOL! So he asked me if I held sex as the trump card? WHAT?

Okay, I have heard of this but had only heard of using it in a marriage….not is a dating situation. Yes, we all know that if you sleep with them too early they think you are a tramp and don’t call back….I get it…but what if you do wait? Then what? He said to use the sex to get what I wanted and that most men were used to that from women! So give them what they are used to and they come around. Wow!

So, I tried it. I have been seeing a man off and on for about 4 months. Really kind and wonderful man, but a little damaged. He was VERY straightforward about NOT wanting a relationship. He just started to call when it was convenient for him…not a good start. But, I followed my male friends advice and told him that ‘IF HE WASN’T MAKING ME HAPPY OUTSIDE THE BED THEN HE WASN’T GETTING IN THE BED”. The look on his face was priceless. But, you know what? IT WORKS! We are starting to do more together and he is more attentive! Now I am the one hoping to find him near a bed! Damn my 40 year old hormones!

So I guess whatever works….I will keep you informed on how it goes.

Hey! Isn’t that Dennis Rodman?

This is my first blog and it starts off a little strangely. While hanging out at my favorite “tiki” bar on the beach last Sunday, my friend “K” and I ran into Dennis Rodman sitting and just talking like a “normal” person! Okay, when you think of a celebrity talking and acting normal…you don’t think of Rodman do you? I don’t! His hair was ONE color (platinum blond), he WASN’T wearing a dress and he wasn’t as tall as I thought he would be! Didn’t he play basketball? Yes, it’s true….he seemed like a nice guy just sitting and having fun watching football on the beach. Wow.

Okay, this blog isn’t all about celebrities since I am not THAT much of a club person and I don’t run into them very often. I am a 40 something single woman who lives in South Florida. You would think that that would get most people jumping up and down but as wonderful as it is….it can be kinda icky too. Being single in this area is strange. There are “dating” rules that I have NEVER had to use before. I am originally from Vermont and for some reason the “dating” rules just aren’t used there….at least I never used them. I never thought that my quest to find a nice “normal” guy to hang with would lead to meeting strange celebrities. So, I will be talking about what I love most. Living and dating in South Florida, jewelry, shopping & fashion….all that kinda girlie stuff that hopefully you will enjoy reading.
